Where: Start/finish Brunts Barn, Brunts Barn, Grindleford, Upper Padley, Hope Valley S32 2JA

Our clean-up is moving to Grindleford this month and we are teaming up with Pick It Up for the Peaks and Trash Free Trails to collect as much litter as possible from around the area.

Arrive at 1 pm for a quick briefing and to collect your litter picker and tally sheet, then head out to explore and pick up litter as you go. Volunteers will be on hand to help, and we’ll all return to Brunts Barn by 4pm for a well-earned rest in the new sensory garden.

Hope Valley Climate Action is a Community hub for Trash Free Trails which means we don’t just pick up rubbish we record it too. This information is reported back to Trash Free Trails so they can understand some trends, find solutions and shape policy to help protect the places we love. This is our third clean-up, come along to this event to find out more.

We’re also joined by Pick it up for the Peaks, a new community litter picking project run by the Peak District National Park.

When: Meet at 13:00, and setting off for a walk shortly afterwards

Where: Brunts Barn, Grindleford, Upper Padley, Hope Valley S32 2JA.

Brunts Barn is a 10minute walk from Grindleford Station where there is an hourly service. You can also catch the number 65 bus to the Maynard Arms stop and walk 15 minutes to the meeting point.

What to Expect: An informal social walk around Upper Padley area to pick up and tally litter. You can either join a couple of our volunteers for a walk or you can explore in your own group and decide on your own route. Maps and directions will be available.

Please bring: Appropriate clothing for the weather, and gloves for collecting litter if you have them (we will have some available too). Suitable footwear as the ground may be uneven and slippery in places. A bottle of water.

Toilets are available at Brunts Barn, where we’ll start and finish. The nearest cafe is Grindleford Cafe, next to the train station.
