Route coming soon!
Unfortunately the route may not be suitable for all physical abilities. Please check the route and be sure that you can comfortably complete it before travelling. We're working to improve outdoor Trash Free Trails expeditions to ensure they are as accessible as possible - for more information contact rach@trashfreetrails.org.
What to Expect
We'll meet at 1:30pm before hosting a briefing at 1:45pm (ish!). Here we'll explain everything you need to know about our unique trail cleaning method, and equip you with all the kit to become a Citizen Scientist for the day!
We'll set off at about 2pm at a gentle walking pace - enough time to take in the views and pick up any rubbish we find along the way.
Back at the car park we'll survey all the rubbish and celebrate the total count. We're inviting volunteers across the Lake District to join in by submitting data on the same day - so hopefully we can leave the entire National Park Trash Free!
You do not need to have any experience of trail cleaning or litter picking to join this event.
What to Bring
Please come in appropriate outdoor clothing and shoes. Bring plenty of layers including waterproofs.
Please come with enough water to be out on the hills all day, snacks and packed lunch.
Please note we reserve the right to postpone or cancel due to poor weather which might affect the safety of the event.
Filming
This event, hosted by Trash Free Trails, will be filmed by Below The Radar TV as part of an exciting new presenter-led series for the BBC about communities coming together to tackle single-use pollution in their areas. This episode will highlight the inspiring work being done by groups and individuals all across the Lake District and their tireless efforts to keep this natural beauty spot clean and trash-free.
By taking part in this trail clean, you grant your permission to be on camera and grant your permissions for likeness and voice in connection with the filming.
