Trash Free Races is reimagining how outdoor events can better look after the trails that host them. Combining years of event experience with brand new onsite activations, we leave organisers and attendees with tangible actions on how to protect our outdoor playgrounds.
We've worked with event organisers, athletes and spectators as well as seasoned volunteers to develop a distinctive event presence. Focusing on inspiring those to connect with themselves, their sport and ultimately, protect the outdoor playgrounds we adventure in.

Discover where we're going!
Trash Free Races has been developed and tailored towards each outdoor event we're attending. From mountain biking, running, to climbing, and everything in between. We’ll be encouraging the whole events ecosystem to take part in ways that make sense for them and their sport.
Our vision is to create a lasting impact that radiates around the whole sporting industry - where Trash Free Races are the rule, not the exception. Making race events more sustainable is no simple task - we’re on hand to support organisers to reduce their single-use footprint, and help attendees connect with the places they visit.
With the magic of a Bosch motor wrapped inside a Trek Rail 8 and our friends at ORTLIEB we have decked out our trash collecting machine that will help us get ahead of the single-use problem faster and further than ever before.

Coming to a Trash Free Race and want to go a step further?
The Trash Free Races team would always appreciate more hands on deck! Whether you're coming to race, cheer, or hang out we'd love to meet you.
Our event stand can get quite busy, so we're welcoming in any support people are able to offer, from photography to merch assistance, many hands make light work.

I'm 'just' an attendee, how can I help?
Plenty! The success of a 'Trash Free Race' will depend upon all individuals involved and coming together to bring the event to life, which means our DIO (Do It Ourselves) ethos will play a prominent role.
When at an event keep your eyes peeled for changes event organisers have made to reduce their single-use footprint; recycling bins, water refill points and no polystyrene food containers are a few examples.
Find the full list in our (not so) Secret Shopper Checklist! Simply download it onto your phone or print out the document, then share your findings with us using the tag #TFTSecretShoppers!

Pick up as you go! A pocketful, handful, or a bin bag full - it all adds up. Every piece of single-use pollution (litter) you remove, counts. Be sure to submit your findings, just takes a couple minutes wherever you are!
Send an email! Are you heading to an event that wasn't on our map? Why not lead the charge for that event to be a Trash Free Race! Give them a little nudge with this email template to get the ball rolling.
