Our Trails Alliance - Online Gathering

Join Trash Free Trails for an online afternoon session exploring how we can revitalise the outdoor industry, with nature in mind.

Centred on the Our Trails Alliance, Trash Free Trails invite friends and peers from across the outdoor sector to come together to discuss how we can foster deeper intersectional collaboration between those who have a stake in trail conservation, and share plans for 2024 to develop the programme.

About the Our Trails Alliance

The Our Trails Alliance is a global community of trail lovers and users working across conservation, the outdoors, research, business and policy change to protect the places we adventure in for future generations.

Founded on Emergent strategies, the Alliance looks to nature for inspiration of how we can organise, develop and innovate within the sector. Fostering principles of regenerative thinking, circularity and authentic inclusivity, the Alliance will take shape as a digital container for unique and transformative collaborations to occur.

The Our Trails Alliance welcomes individuals and organisations who self-identify as trail lovers and users, and work in relevant sectors.

The Alliance's development is ongoing, having been initially presented at the State of Our Trails Summit 2022 by co-initiator Stan Townsend.

What to expect from this Gathering

The aim of this Gathering is to bring together those with an interest in the Alliance and its six strategic themes:

1. Join the dots between outdoor activity and climate change
2. Enhance responsible management of and access to trails
3. Increase diversity and inclusion in outdoor spaces
4. Enhance action and integrity of relevant business and industry
5. Join the dots between outdoor activity and mental health
6. Locally and internationally grow TFT influence

During the session attendees will be invited to share reflections and feedback on the current work being done on each theme. In addition co-initators of the programme will share updates and plans for 2024, alongside opportunities to get involved.

We welcome anyone with a passion for trail conservation and/or who's work relates directly or indirectly to the preservation of trail ecosystems. The current Alliance represents individuals working across business, legislation, research and development, grassroots community engagement, professional sport and activism and systems change.

The Gathering will be held on Zoom, and run for 2 hours with a short break. Attendees are encouraged to keep their cameras on and to participate in what we hope to be a lively and inspiring conversation.
