Trash Free Trails are coming to a Race Event near you!
(Cool, but why?)
To introduce our mission to as many lucky participants and spectators as we can.
To inspire and show how future events can be more sustainable.
So that you can take tangible environmental actions back to your local trails.
And for the TFT A-TEAM to get a bit of a tan this summer!
This Summer We're Hitting The Road!

Some sentence about packing bags, something to big up the new e-bike and all the activations etc. we'll do that completes this paragraph nicely. So this summer we're road tripping to some of the best events the UK has to offer etc. something else here.
We know that speaking to riders, runners and roamers on the trails and at the events they love is how we can ignite the most sparks, and we can't wait to meet you along the way!

Plenty!
Ultimately, the success of a 'Trash Free Race' will depend upon all individuals involved and coming together to bring the event to life, which means out DIO (Do It Ourselves) ethos will play a prominent role.
So when at an event, please keep your eyes peeled for the steps taken by the organisers; recycling bins, water refill points and no polystyrene food containers are a few examples. Find the full list in our (not so) Secret Shopper Checklist! Simply download it onto your phone or print out the document, then share your findings with us using the tag #TFTSecretShoppers!
Pick up as you go!
A pocketful, handful, or a bin bag full - it all adds up. Every piece of single-use pollution (litter) you remove, counts. Be sure to submit your findings, just takes a couple minutes wherever you are!

Achievements Are Worth Celebrating
Event attendees are just as invested in sustainability as you are, so making noise about achieving a TFT Approved Standard is almost as important as hitting the criteria in itself.
This is why we've built clear communications objectives into the Criteria, along with a heap of support, ideas and visual materials for you to use to showcase to your event community that sustainability is a top priority.
Building attendee investment is vital for encouraging behaviour change. By shouting proudly about the changes you've made, you can inspire change beyond the Finish Line.

A sustainable event can’t succeed without cooperation, collaboration and feet on the ground from competitors and spectators. The best way you as a competitor can contribute is by making noise about TFT Approved at your event. Get educated, and encourage other competitors to do the same.
And if TFT Approved isn't present at one of your races, be the one to introduce it to event organisers! As key stakeholders there's so much you can do to help leave positive traces where you run and ride.
