WE EXIST TO PROTECT
OUR TRAILS AND THE
WILD SPACES THEY TAKE US TO.
We haven't written this yet... SORRY.
The Academy
We think that one of the reasons people trash their trails is because they are disconnected in one way, shape or form. To their wild places, the places they trash. To the people around them perhaps, or even to themselves.
The #TRASHMOB Academy is a youth engagement project that offers young people a chance to reconnect. They are offered the opportunity to learn MTB skills, whilst developing their attitudes to litter in an effort to improve their improve self-esteem and nature connection, using mountain biking as the physical activity catalyst for change.
The syllabus naturally includes its own Routemap for how the young people might be able to get involved with our projects, and more about the TFT community: the #TRASHMOB, A-TEAM and HQ. Hopefully, we light a fire in the young people we are able to reach as part of this programme, and they feel empowered, engaged and enabled to get involved, and want to protect their trails and wild places.
In a few months, we'll be registering interest for schools, and other organisations to get involved, so watch this space... In the meantime, We ran an incredibly successful pilot with some amazing people at Leeds Urban Bike Park - check out what happened here.
